Why Are American Health Care Costs So High? (video by John Green)

You ever watch any of the VlogBrothers' videos?  Brothers Hank and John Green have been making hundreds of educational videos online over the years under the VlogBrothers moniker, covering a range of topics.  Science, history, literature - and guess what - even economics!

Anyway, I came across this video recently, and thought it was particularly excellent, so I thought I'd share it with all of you.

When I was a student, I took an elective called "Health Economics."  In that 13 week class, the professor really didn't cover much more than John Green covers in this 8 minute vid.

He goes pretty quick, but remember, this is a video.  You can rewind it and listen to the same bit over and over.  You can pause and let a point sink in, or do some side Googling to clear up a point.  Try to watch the whole thing and really digest it.

Of course, the issue is much more complicated that one 8 minute video, or one 13 week class.  There's people out there who spend their whole life studying this stuff.  But this is a great way to organize your thoughts.
