Three Major Historical Economists

While economic theories frequently develop their own devotees or following, economists themselves rarely do.  The BBC recently produced a three part documentary series about some of history's biggest personalities in economics - John Keynes, Frierich Hayek, and Karl Marx - that does a great job of humanizing three individuals whose works have come to overshadow their creators.

Whether or not you know their names, you probably are a hardcore defender of one (or more than one) of these men's ideas on economics - particularly on how governments should or shouldn't manage them.  Nearly all modern governmental economic policy was developed in the minds of these three men, and that's no hyperbole.

So if you have some time, please check out these videos!  They're particularly interesting in that they talk a lot about their subjects personal lives, as well as their economic theories.  And seeing how, in an economic sense at least, we are all now living in their world, learning about these guys is certainly a worthwhile investment of your time!!
